An Introduction to Bloom Behavioral Healthcare LLC, Providing ABA Therapy to the Northland and Beyond

An Introduction to Bloom Behavioral Healthcare LLC

Bloom Behavioral Healthcare LLC was established in 2022 by Olivia Holt. The idea for Bloom was planted during Olivia’s time working with or for other ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) facilities. Olivia began her journey with the intent to teach, obtaining a degree in education. However, after spending time working with children on the spectrum, it became clear she was meant to do something else. She realized that the passion she felt for her role in facilitating positive change was matched by the easy connections she was able to make with the children, ultimately deciding to pursue an ABA Master’s Program.

From there, Olivia spent her time honing her skills with various facilities in the Kansas City area. After a few years, she was ready for a change. After leaving her current position, Olivia embarked on a journey to create the exact type of program and atmosphere she’d been striving to be a part of throughout her career.

In the past, there has at times been a negative stigma attached the principles of ABA Therapy, with concern over techniques and overall goals. Olivia agrees that outdated practices can do more harm than good, and therefore created her program with an emphasis on compassion as the foundation. Using a gentle, naturalistic approach that puts the core needs of the child first, the idea behind Bloom is to allow for skill-building and life-improving strategies to be implemented in a way that is led by the client and their family. The goal is never to mold the child into a societal standard of “acceptable,” but to help navigate challenges that hinder their personal growth, guiding them with tools specific to their needs in order to live a more fulfilling life.

The core belief at Bloom is that every person is unique with their own set of struggles and needs. Children who need extra support are not missing anything - they simply think differently and require certain tools to help them flourish exactly as they are.

Bloom Behavioral Healthcare LLC is available in the Northland and Greater Kansas City area in Missouri, offering services for ages 18 months up to 10 years old. Bloom offers parent collaboration, school collaboration and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams as needed. Services take place in the client’s home, at school, and/or community locations. Hours, goals and service plans vary based on individual need and will be determined after an initial multi-step intake assessment.

Bloom accepts Missouri Medicaid, Kansas Medicaid, New Directions (Blue KC), Tri-Care, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Aetna-MO for insurance at this time. If your insurance plan is not listed, please don’t hesitate to reach out as new insurance plans are periodically added, or can be applied for. There are also self-pay options available. Please note that insurance companies require an official Autism diagnosis by a licensed physician or counselor in order to cover services. Your child’s primary care provider should be able to assist with beginning that process if you are seeking a diagnosis.
